Growing Number of STD Cases a Rising Challenge

Health Department Authorities are worried over the latest reports that indicate an increase in the volume of STD infections being reported. While the increase may not seem to be alarming to some, any increase in the number of documented instances can be associated with a rise in unreported infections. Whereas a leading concern was formerly a lack of readily available syphilis testing, that is no longer the case with the ever increasing number of ways that men and women can receive std testing in Louisville. Both the county and community health departments have tried to make inexpensive testing available to people of all income levels, and private testing providers have also been a good source for confidential STD testing services. “There appears to be a presumption that if you are not demonstrating any signs and symptoms, then you are not infected.” said one local official. “Nevertheless, any medical professional will advise you that a majority of STDs show virtually no symptoms, even though the threat of spreading is just the same.” The only way to decrease this accelerated growth is for all at risk people to receive regular STD testing for all major infections. If you believe you might be at risk, or simply just don’t know, the right measure is to call your local health department or search online for “STD testing services” in order to identify a local medical laboratory that can assess your level of risk.
